Classical Arts Centre
IBT's largest undertaking is the restoration and renovation of the neglected Sanatorium Nurses Home in Crown Point, IN. This last remaining home for nurses in America, will be transformed into IBT¹s Classical Arts Centre. The building is located at the gateway of Crown Point on Main Street at the northern most point of the city. This will be the jewel in the crown of Crown Point, Indiana.
The vision for Classical Arts Centre will help IBT fulfill its mission of transforming lives and enriching the community through the world of dance. CAC will not only be a permanent home for IBT, but a permanent home for many arts and artists. CAC will be a place to foster collaboration, encourage networking, enrich education, become a sanctuary with it¹s extensive gardens and public sculptures, enjoy a meal in our café, and catch a performance in our black box theatre. Gloria Tuohy, founder of IBT, has worked to bring together a group of business and art professionals who are actively mounting a capital campaign this year. IBT will reside on the third floor of the building. The first floor will house a black box theatre with art gallery, offices and gift shop. The entire second floor will be home to the finest teachers of the performing and visual arts who will offer classes and outreach into the community. Won't you join this promise of bright future for all northwest Indiana? We need financial supporters, volunteers and the heart of our community. Please give generously.
